Turkish- Iraqi border, 04-1991 Kurdish refugees in a makeshift camp along the Turkish Iraqi border fetch water in a Typhoid infested river. After attacks by Sadam Hussein's army, over 500.000 Kurdish civilians were forced to flee into the mountains near the Turkish boder. Stuck without food and water, thousands of them died in the following weeks and months of disease and starvation.
