Turkish- Iraqi border, 04-1991 A Kurdish women refugee holds her sick and malnurished dying baby in a makeshift refugee camp along the Turkish Iraqi border. After attacks by Sadam Hussein's army, over 500.000 Kurdish civilians were forced to flee into the mountains near the Turkish boder. Stuck without food and water, thousands of them died in the following weeks and months of disease and starvation.
